Crackdown is now free and can be Played On Xbox One

The original Crackdown was a huge success for Xbox 360 -- packed-in access to the Halo 3 beta didn't hurt - and now Xbox players can revisit 2007 for the low, low cost of absolutely nothing. The game's digital price has been removed without explanation or fanfare. However, it is possible that this is linked to the XO18 Mexico event this weekend, where Phil Spencer, Xbox chief, will be present. It will include an hour-long Inside Xbox stream on Saturday at 4 PM ET with information regarding Crackdown 3, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Forza Horizon 4. There will also be A dozen Game Pass announcements and "a surprise or two." Minecraft survival servers



It's been quite a while since we've heard anything from Crackdown 3 and giving folks a taste of the original could help drum up hype for a new installment in the series that's scheduled to be released in 2019. It's a great idea, despite some delays and disappointing performances. Agents, Crackdown is now available with backwards compatibility for Xbox One -- and upgraded to the more powerful Xbox One X -- beginning February. Click the link to download it.
