Have you ever played Minecraft on an M1 Mac

Hi!

When I read the reviews of the new Macs, especially the MacBook Pro, I'm very inclined to upgrade from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. Dein freund I was a Mac user during the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However, I switched to Windows a few decades ago.

I have a variety of programs that I use which I've seen people say work fine on M1 however do you know whether Minecraft (Java) can be played on an M1 Mac? It's my most played game and I don't believe I could replace my laptop with one that does not support it. I know Java exists for ARM but I haven't heard anybody playing Minecraft on an M! Mac!

Thanks! (Hopefully I put this post in the correct location!)

It is highly recommended. The M1 Mac will blow your surface off the board performance-wise. It's just a matter of time until Minecraft is optimized to the M1. In the meantime you'll be able to run any version. Bedrock (because M1's are able to natively run apps for iOS and iPadOS) and Java (translated real-time running Rosetta 2 that is built in. You won't even be able to tell the difference.

I've side loaded Minecraft to my M1 Mac but keyboard and mouse won't work. What method did you use to side load it?

yes

info from the video: Java is not a native M1 application, so it must use Rosetta 2 emulation.

he looked at the Baseline 7-core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline 8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP produced the world (same seed on both) like a second faster however the MacBook Air seemed to be getting a bit better FPS due to some reason (he was using same settings for graphics on both).

This comparison has a problem. He did not shut down vsync which means that the FPS is only 60 FPS. It would have been interesting determine how high it could really go.

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all work well together. Dein freund However the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow for the PC and Mac versions to play each one another. You can still play with your friends on Android and an iOS device.
